Youth Services/Scholarships

Financial services especially for young adults!

Scholarships – Each year CCU awards a number of scholarships to graduating high school seniors who are continuing their education at a 4-year college or 2-year technical or trade school. Applications and more information about our scholarship is available here.

A-Team - Every quarter we ask any kindergarten through 12th grade student of a public, private or home school who is a CCU member (or the child or grandchild of a member) to submit their report card containing one or more A’s (or equivalent score). A random drawing is then held for 3 – $25 prizes in each of 4 grade groups and, at the end of the year, we draw for a $300 prize! See a list of winners here.

Savings Account – Learning savings habits is the first step in financial accountability. Make regular deposits (no matter how small) and set short-term savings goals to buy a game, concert ticket or even a car.

FREE Checking – No minimum balance requirement and no monthly service fee. Access the account using  checks, debit or ATM card, online or mobile app.

FREE Debit Card – You’ll have convenient access to your checking and savings accounts at ATMs around the country to make cash withdrawals and transfers. Card can also be used at merchants to pay for purchases from your checking account. To apply for a debit card on an existing checking account call or visit any CCU office.

FREE CU-Online – Review account balances and transaction history, transfer funds between accounts, view statements and pay bills. Parent and student accounts can be linked for quick access, should an emergency cash transfer be needed.

FREE Mobile App – Allows you to manage your CCU accounts from your smartphone or mobile device with Internet access. It’s banking on the go! Just download the app from Google Play or the App Store.

Visa College Real Rewards Credit Card – Ideal for a college student with a work study or part-time job who wants to build credit. Available to students age 18+ attending an accredited 2-4 year school. Limits range from $300 to $1,000 with no annual fee. Each time the card is used, students earn reward points that can be redeemed for music downloads, gift cards, merchandise and more. Review the information or apply for a Visa College Rewards credit card.

Visa Travel Money Card – Students attending school or traveling abroad can access this prepaid debit card at merchants and ATMs around the world. If funds get low while traveling, card can be reloaded at any CCU office or online. It’s also a safer way to access funds while on spring break or class trips. Visa Travel Money Cards can be purchased at any CCU office.

Sallie Mae Student Loans - If you still need money for school after maximizing grants, scholarships and federal loans, the Sallie Mae Smart Option Student Loan may be the ideal funding solution. Fixed or variable interest rates and flexible repayment options.
